The wines are unique in that their drinks taste vary considerably from one vineyard to another and from one type of grape to another. This very fact is what makes wine interesting for us to drink, to compare and evaluate. However, these changes also tend to complicate their respective wine storage and aging process.
Red wine is fermented with the juice and solids (skins and pulp) mixed. On the other hand, the juice grape which is separated solids is used to make white wine. Red wines are often enhanced by the aging of their five to fifteen years. Wines whites are generally made to be consumed immediately and the aging of their more than three years may actually be detrimental to their enjoyment.
Many news sites wine generalize that the optimum temperature for wine storage is 55 degrees F. Some sites make wine a range of temperatures for red wines from 50 to 64 degrees F., while the range of white wines is 41 to 50 degrees F. Because white wines age generally faster than red wines, store them in cold temperatures will slow their respective processes of aging and they can be stored longer if at higher temperatures. Store red wine at temperatures slightly higher than their white wines allow to age in a reasonable time.
What is the best solution for storage of wine when the enjoyment of both wine and red wine is your desired goal? Investing in a wine refrigerator or wine cooler designed with two different storage areas is the best solution. Commonly called "dual zone wine coolers, these devices have two distinct independently controlled environments and temperatures: one for red wines and one for whites. This type of wine cellar allows the wine lover to "enjoy the best of both worlds".
Coolers dual zone wine come in two basic configurations. The most common configuration is to have two independent areas on the top and bottom of your refrigerator wine. Each of these two compartments have their own temperature controls respectively. Another configuration, you can buy is the side-by-side configuration. This type of wine cooler is often what are often termed "French Doors". Either configuration will improve the appearance your home and solve the problem of storage and aging of different types of wine.
The storage and aging your wines white and red the best their temperature will increase your enjoyment. Be prepared to meet all the choices of different wines of your hosts will make you an entertainment professional.
